Jelly Roll Bricks Quilt 

Weekend Quilt


Quilt measures 55 x 65

Materials
To make 35 blocks 

1 Jelly Roll
3 yards of backing fabric plus 2.5 inch first border I used white and back ground white blocks 
2 yards blue 3inch in width for second border and binding.



Instructions

Choose your colours for your jelly rolls, fit 2 contrasting strips FRONT SIDES together  



 
Cut both strips together, you should get 4 from each set of strip set, cut into 8 inch's in length  you need a total of 35  sets 

                                                  
Cut your white or background fabric 4inchs wide by 8 inch's in length you will need 35. 

Stitch all 3 together as show in the video.
Layout as shown below take 3 blocks and cut into half and fit into the the small areas as shown in he video

                                      
Cut your first whit border at 2.5 inch's s you will need 3 strips by the wof, cut your 3inch border by the WOF you will also need 3, stitch on.

Your quilt top is now ready for batting and backing , then add your binding this will also be 2.5 inch's x 3 by the WOF.

Summer Blossom Quilt

Quilt  Measures 60 x  90



To make this quilt you can use the following fabric types

Yardage, Fat Quarters, Charm, Squares. Layer Cakes

This quilt can be easily adjustable to a 9inch block  with 20 blocks to form the quilt using charm squares or the layer cakes snowballs will be 4inchs square and centre snow balls will be 2inchs square

If using yardage or fat quarters cut into the required size.

Requirements

15 Fat quarters cut into 7.5 inch squares you need 4 for each block

60- 2inch squares for middle for flower centres use scraps or from the cut fat quarters

White Yardage - 3  yards  - for  snowballs (I used white)  sashing and inner  borders, 2.5  inches for sashing at the length of your block and 2.5  inches for the white borders around the quilt.


5 inch borders 2yards 

Backing fabric  5yards

Binding -I used leftover from my backing fabric


Steps to take

Cut fabric into required size, I used  Fat Quarters 

Cut 60 7.5 inch squares

Cut 60 2 inch squares for centres

Cut 60 5inch squares for snowballs




Lay the blocks out and add the snow balls as explained in the video  stich together. ( you an mix the squares around if you desire ) 


Layout as show below before adding the inner white 2.5 inch rows and borders make sure you are happy with the placement of your blocks.


Cut 10 Sashing  strips

Cut  4 inner white borders  and 1 borders each for the and bottom of quilt once

Attach end borders to the length of the quilt top cut  to   inner rows after stitching blocks and the sashing  


Cut your final border  and of 5 inch in width measure your quilt top so that you know how much strips you need as explained in previous videos.

E.G of  calculation below

eg Measure all sides of the quilt , total the sides then divide by the WOF 40 (width of fabric) see previous video eg pinwheel star quilt

Iron your quilt top and ensure that all seams are press flat or open

Your quilt is now ready for batting backing and binding
