sold cuts example only                            print fabric A cut white C cut        4 squares required                                                                                                                                            block
not in  actual layout in quit

Sew squares together to make block , square up to 10inch

TIP YOU MUST  DO THIS

One you have made all squares,  play around to find the layout as shown in the pics below that you can choose for your quilt layout, do this before stitching into blocks.

I chose the on point layout

Sew the blocks together once you have decided on your layout, you need to make 30 blocks
Select 7 blocks and lay aside these will be used for setting on point at the ends to make the quilt top a rectangular shape.
Lay out your blocks on point to form as shown in the video or pic above.
Cut the remaining blocks in half from point to point diagonally from point to point . and lay out as shown below.

Sew blocks together row by row  as shown in the video, once sewn together, measure the quilt top to know the amount you will need for your white floater border at 2 inch width.

eg Measure all sides of the quilt , total the sides then divide by the WOF 40 (width of fabric) see video.

For the second border
Cut and sew the triangles as shown in the video make as suggested in the pattern if making this actual size.

Measure the border again for the 5inch border used the calculation method as mention before.

Once you have cut and sew on on your final border your quilt top is ready for  batting, backing and quilting.

Again you will need the same mathematics calculation for the binding amount of 2.5 inch strip required.

Enjoy.

Crafty Quilting Designs

Colourful Corners Quilt size 63 x 75

Materials required.

36 striped 10’’ squares

1 yard cut into 3’’ wide of white strips.

1 yard cut 4‘’ wide blue border strips.

Binding any colour of your choice

Measure finish quilt top for required backing fabric.

Steps to take.

Cut fabric into 10-inch squares so you have 36 squares in total.

Stack into groups of 6, you should have 6 groups all together.

Lay out 3 groups horizontal and the other 3 group vertical,

Cut each group from corner to corner or (point to point) as shown below

Take 1 half triangle from each group and match together

Sew front sides together using half an inch seam, continue for all cut squares.

Iron and press the seams to 1 side of the fabric, do this for all the squares.

At this point you need to layout the quilt as shown in the picture below or choose your own design, take a picture so you remember the layout and then stitch all together to form your quilt top.

Give your quilt top a press, measure you quilt, total all sides then divide by the WOF (width of fabric) as explained in the video, do this for both borders, stitch on the first border to the quilt, press and do the same for the next border.

Your quit top is now ready for batting and backing fabric.
