Pinwheel Star Quilt using a Kite Cut ....Fat Quarter Friendly
Requirements
Creative grids rulers (Crazier Eights 8")
Equilateral Triangle 60 degrees ruler
Rotary cutter
Rotating mat or board
8 Fat quarters- for kite cuts
1 fat quarter will give you 16 kite cutes (using A ) total kites 100
Sides cuts (back ground fabric ) solids total sides approx. 200 (using C ruler )
1 yard for the black
2.5 yards for the white to include floater borders and triangles
Borders-
White floater border at 2 inch's in width
2 yards Raspberry Paisley fabric for triangles cut from a 4 inch strip width
37 white and 37 paisley triangular cuts ( 9.5 cut on dotted line on 60 degree Triangle)
5 inch borders (end border)
Blocks make 30 blocks which can alternate with white or black back ground fabric (sides)
Backing Fabric 3.5 yards @44 inch's wide I used white on white spots.
Binding 1 yard I used blue floral at 2.5 in width by 4 strips ( if you make this size )
Steps to take
Using the crazier eights rulers A and C make A square by sewing 1 kite cut from ruler A and 2 side cuts from ruler C as shown in the video to make to a square then into a block that has 4 squares .

Colourful Corners quilt

Colourful Corners Quilt size 63 x 75
Materials
required.
36 striped
10’’ squares
1 yard cut
into 3’’ wide of white strips.
1 yard cut
4‘’ wide blue border strips.
Binding any
colour of your choice
Measure
finish quilt top for required backing fabric.
Steps to
take.
Cut fabric
into 10-inch squares so you have 36 squares in total.
Stack into
groups of 6, you should have 6 groups all together.
Lay out 3 groups
horizontal and the other 3 group vertical,
Cut each group from corner to corner or (point to point) as shown below
Sew front
sides together using half an inch seam, continue for all cut squares.
Iron and
press the seams to 1 side of the fabric, do this for all the squares.
At this
point you need to layout the quilt as shown in the picture below or choose your own
design, take a picture so you remember the layout and then stitch all together
to form your quilt top.
Give your
quilt top a press, measure you quilt, total all sides then divide by the WOF
(width of fabric) as explained in the video, do this for both borders, stitch
on the first border to the quilt, press and do the same for the next border.
Your quit
top is now ready for batting and backing fabric.
